1. The information in a session
Dudao keeps the Shared Session information you create on the device. This can include the selected conversation setting, card progress, answered and skipped card outcomes, questions you keep, and a one-line recap. The app does not require a profile for this activity.
2. Optional memory seal
After a session, each person may make an independent Memory Seal choice. Those choices are saved locally with the session. A Memory Seal can also include an optional table photo and up to two short voice notes. These items are optional and are not required to use the conversation cards.
3. Camera access
Dudao asks for Camera access only when you tap “PHOTO” in a completed session. The selected image is saved in the app’s private storage on the device as part of that session. You can decline Camera access; the rest of the app remains usable.
4. Microphone access
Dudao asks for Microphone access only when you tap “VOICE 01” or “VOICE 02” in the Memory Seal. It records a voice note of up to ten seconds and saves it in the app’s private storage on the device. You can decline Microphone access or stop a recording; the rest of the app remains usable.
5. Photos access for export
Dudao asks for permission to add to your Photos library only when you tap “SAVE TO PHOTOS” beneath a table photo. This permission lets the app write that one photo to your library; it does not let Dudao browse, read, or scan the photos already in your library. You can decline permission and keep the same photo privately in the app.
6. Motion during turn taking
On the Handoff Signal screen, Dudao asks for Motion & Fitness access to help recognize when the phone is turned toward the other seat. Motion information is used on the device for that interaction and is not kept as a motion history. You can decline access and use “Continue without turning” instead.
7. Local storage and deletion
Session records, optional photos, and optional voice notes stay on the device. A table photo remains private to the app unless you explicitly export it to Photos. Starting a new round can preserve the prior round as a small local trace in that session. You can delete an individual session or use Clear Local Data to remove locally stored sessions and their associated optional media. Exported copies in Photos are managed from the Photos app.
8. Sharing choices
If you choose Share Invitation, Dudao hands invitation text to the iOS sharing interface and to the destination you choose. The app does not upload your session, recap, Memory Seal choices, photos, or voice notes as part of that action.
9. Security and your discretion
Local information is subject to the protections of your device and operating system. Please use your judgment before adding a recap, photo, or voice note that you would not want kept on the device.
10. Children
Dudao is not designed as a public community service and does not provide a public profile, feed, or direct messaging area. A parent or guardian should supervise a child’s use where appropriate.
